Construction is now complete on the third and final phase of State Road 9B from I-95 to County Road 2209 (St. Johns Parkway) in St. Johns County. This project was instrumental in opening up the budding Master Planned Communities in NW St Johns County to I-95 Access, cutting down commute times and making this section of the county more accessible to the rest of the NE Florida area.

Per FDOT, an interchange at State Road 9B and Race Track Road was not possible due to the close proximity of the current 9B and I-95 ramps. Communities such as Durbin Crossing, Aberdeen, RiverTown, The Reserve at Greenbriar, Oxford Estates, Julington Creek Plantation, The Colony at Greenbriar, Julington Lakes as well as several other communities along the Roberts Road, Greenbriar Road, and Longleaf Pine Parkway corridors.

This project also included construction of five retention ponds and bridges/overpasses at Race Track Road, Peyton Parkway, Durbin Creek and Russell Sampson Road. Read the full announcement here: facebook.com/FDOTNEFL
